A human challenge

It’s probably better to be rational and logical, rather than reactionary and emotional.

Returns to normal: Social versus economic reality

It’s important to differentiate between social and economic returns to normal. The media chatter overwhelmingly mentions “the vaccine” as the catalyst for the reinstatement of society. It is said the vaccine will provide peace of mind to wean away from social distancing – what will be told to the people without a job to go back to? What are the proposed solutions to this issue that we are bearing down on? $1200 only goes so far. If there is a ramp-up period when the economy turns back on, there will be a need for survival for the labor pool waiting in the wings – and that is IF a business can survive the new climate, as the jobless population won’t have the money to support the business that employs their neighbor.

Everybody is flip-flopping

Everybody’s flip-flopping and grasping in the unfamiliar territory because going back the data isn’t hereditary, it something very secondary. If you want to do good, for everyone, even you, you have to be in the right place, including the right mind space.

And still

And still, the people are clearly not in power and everyone is forced inside of their homes, without an income, and without jobs waiting for them on “the other side” because there is no other side, but only the other now.

The hole has been dug

The hole has been dug, it can’t be swept under the rug – the hole is beneath the rug. Ha! There is nothing to buy-into – you can be philosophical, and you can be righteous in that philosophy – but if you understand the data, you understand the truth of where we are now and where we are going to be in the next little while going forward.

Where is everyone?

Where is everyone? Are they really in their homes? It seems kind of quiet. Maybe they’ll tell us when this thing is over.

A tool in love

At first glance a witty phrase, don’t be a tool in love. When the time came for pen to paper, the parallel was not present, original idea turned to vapor. Even now as I write this evolving theory, I see how a cutesy play on words spurred thoughts like roaming herds of bison – oh yes, I’ve been thinking a lot about bison lately. The point is that a tool is a lot more useful than a fool.

Data doesn’t lie

A finance guy at a place I worked at was really into his spreadsheets – I mean really into them. When I would come to him with ideas on how to streamline a process, he would immediately state to me “Sounds great, please put it into a spreadsheet so I can take a look at it” – I never put anything into a spreadsheet for him.

He was looking for answers in the wrong place. You always want to find the root, that is, the raw data. The numbers will lie, but the raw data will not.

Ego isn’t experience

If you’re too busy thinking you already know everything, you remain as smart as you were when you blindly formed your baseless, ego-driven ideals.

Touch

I might just need to touch you. I don’t know why. I might just like the way you feel.

Spare bodies

Me: I can’t wait for the day when we have spare bodies in our closets.

Her: Not me, I don’t want to live forever.
